It does not take a long period of time walking with the Lord before one begins to realize that nothing just happens in the presence of Jesus—do you know what I mean? There is a Master Plan for the Kingdom of God, and no matter what occurs in this life, it will be brought under the hand of God and work out according to God’s Plan. You can see it.

The Master’s Plan is summed up beautifully in the closing verses of the Letter to the Hebrew Christians. Let’s hear again God’s Plan in 13.20-21: ‘May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep.’ God’s Plan is centered in Jesus!

But it is not just that we would know God’s Plan or believe that God has a Plan, but that we enter into that Plan in order to be prepared for the living out of that Plan in our lives, as the author continues: to ‘equip you with everything good for doing his will.’ We simply cannot do what God has for us to do without being equipped to do that, and well.

Our goal is ultimately to please God, and quite frankly, we can never do that without his equipment in our lives! That is how we please him, as the author concludes: ‘and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.’ Glory to God in the Highest for equipping his people on earth!
