To be certain of something demands a lot of the correct information placed in the proper order so that specific results can occur. We are certain that morning follows night every time because that has happened without fail since there was time. But we cannot be certain that it will happen in just that way tomorrow because something may change.

When it comes to walking out the Christian Faith, the only things of which we can be certain are those things which God has done heretofore, or has declared for the future. The most prominent variable in all of this is ME! God never fails, but I most often fall on my face while carrying out the least complicated tasks assigned to me. A CERTAINTY!

One of those things for which certainty is mandated is in our understanding of an enemy of God who seeks to destroy Jesus in us at every opportunity. Saint Paul speaks of this one in 2 Thessalonians 2.3-4: ‘Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for (that day will not come) until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.’

Deception is Satan’s game plan, and we must know that for certain. Paul concludes: ‘He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.’ By knowing God we can be certain of that which is neither God nor of God, and we are free to ask our God to make us CERTAIN OF HIS POWER AND PRESENCE!
