It becomes easier and easier to see God when you have walked with him long enough to know what to look for when he is active in your arena. In the early days of my walk of faith I expected to see the Lord at all times, but usually in a Cecil B. De Mille format—if you get my drift. I wanted to see lightening, glory, angels, and fire, and to hear thunder.

Now that I know what to expect it is much easier to get my expectations met. I see the Lord in the quietest places, in the simplest faces, and always in a way which drives me to serve him as I respond to his direction about what he has just shown me. We read in Romans 1.20-21: For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

The secret to seeing Jesus is found in the willingness of the heart to respond to his clear directions for life. Many people see God at work, and they may even recognize the hand of the Almighty, but they will not submit to his headship. Paul continues: For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.

The clear benefit of seeing God is found in what happens in your own life when you allow him to be God and give him the glory that belongs to him. When one sees Jesus do his thing in another life, and agrees with what Jesus is doing and wants to do, then he comes alongside of his servant with his blessings of peace, joy and love. SEE GOD!
