Picking up on where we left off in Snack #584, wherein we were informed that we have been given both the message and ministry of reconciliation, Paul is even bolder in 2 Corinthians 5.20-21: ‘We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.’ This is something new.

To be an ambassador is to have the credentials of heaven as our authority for reconciliation. All of the power of heaven is available to us for this ministry of bringing humanity more nearly into alignment with God’s call for their lives. Paul continues: ‘We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.’

As ambassadors for the King of Heaven we are able to declare the truth of our mission based upon what has been shared with us by our King and Lord. Again Saint Paul shares: ‘God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.’ Simply stated, we are who we re-present to the world.

We represent the Lord our God, and our role is to re-present him to everyone we meet in this walk. We are to share who is our King; what our King has done for us; why we serve him; the rewards of that service; the advantages of making the switch to our King over any other; and then we make the introduction successful.
