The Apostle John saw Jesus fully arrayed in heavenly imagery which we try to see as we reflect on his words. It does seem difficult for us to see the full glory of this vision even as John tries to put it into words for us. I believe Father God will unveil the full picture to each of us as we walk in faith with his Son Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

Let your spiritual imaginations run wild as you read these words again. John writes in the Revelation 1.12-16: ‘I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest.’ WOW! WHAT A PICTURE!

Talk about a glorious vision! This is the fullness of the presentation of the One anointed for us: ‘His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.’ Nothing is left out of this picture as we can see, hear—even feel the majesty of Jesus.

There is a purpose to this picture—this is not just for show. Saint John closes the scene with power: ‘In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.’ Seeing any part of the vision would be a blessing to us, but as we begin to see more and more of our Lord, the more we are drawn to our Father God. I WANT TO SEE MORE AND MORE OF JESUS! YOU?
