There is one statement which can be truthfully made of every single person on this planet—you exist because you were born! Other creatures may well have arrived in other forms, but as a human being you had to be born a human being. At the very least that brings equality to all of us—we were brought to birth!

Allow me to go further here—each and every one of us was born of the flesh of one mother and one father, but not one of us was ever born without the direct influence of the God who created this world and all things in, on or around it. We are—if you will allow me to say so—hand-made by the God of heaven and earth!

The prophet Isaiah speaks to this reality in 66.9: ‘Do I bring to the moment of birth and not give delivery?’ says the LORD. He is speaking for God herein. God brings each of us to the moment of birth, and then follows through with his project by bringing us into this life wherein he will be present with us forever.

But this declaration goes much farther than just bringing us as humans to birth on this earth. He does the same thing with everything ever needed to make our lives complete in him. All of his plans come to life for us, as Isaiah concludes: ‘Do I close up the womb when I bring to delivery?’ says your God. Nothing is left open-ended with our God—he brings us to birth that we might know him as the life of the world. WE WERE BORN TO KNOW GOD AND TO SERVE HIM!
