The offering of praise to God has always had a central role to play in the faithful living of life in the Spirit of God. We read of that truth throughout the Old and New Testaments of the bible. As much as we enjoy the anointing of the Holy Spirit, we have yet to grasp the true depth of the value of our praising Almighty God day by day.

We read of one instance in 2 Chronicles 20.18-21: Jehoshaphat bowed with his face to the ground, and all the people of Judah and Jerusalem fell down in worship before the LORD. Then some Levites stood up and praised the LORD, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice. Nothing could hold them back!

The people were headed for the wilderness, and needed God to be with them, so the King admonished them: ‘Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the LORD your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.’ He was giving them the ground rules for a successful trip into unknown territory.

The writer continues: Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the LORD and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: ‘Give thanks to the LORD, for his love endures forever.’ After all, it is the Lord who is King, and he leads the army of faith into certain victory—regardless of the circumstances. PRAISE OUR GOD LOUDLY, AND AT ALL TIMES!
